We highly recommend a glycol-heated driveway, also known as a hydronic system, over an electrical system. Hydronic systems offer superior performance without the high electrical draw associated with electric heating. The system utilizes a gas-powered boiler, which we typically install in the garage.

 

We also suggest using pavers instead of poured concrete. Pavers allow for future access and repairs, should they ever be needed. With concrete, once the slab is poured and the pipes are sealed, accessing and repairing the system down the road is not possible.
